Are you haunted by how you are going to spend this Halloween? Alexandria and the surrounding communities are offering the following ghostly experiences for both adults and children to enjoy this Halloween season.

Haunted theatre: Get your scream on!

The Alexandria Area Arts Association (AAAA) will hold its 5th annual haunted theatre. The annual scare-fest returns, more terrifying than ever. Take a journey into darkness, where madness and mayhem await you at every turn.

The scary event is set for Fridays, October 22 and 29 ,and Saturdays, October 23 and 30 from 6 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, October 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the AAAA Theatre, 618 Broadway in Alexandria.

Tickets are $5 at the door. The haunted theatre is not recommended for children younger than 10.

Family fall festival

A family fall festival is set for Wednesday, October 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Berea Lutheran Church.

Kids can attend in their costumes (no masks) and enjoy free pizza, games, face painting, candy and trunk-r-treating.

Berea is located at 1405 6th Avenue East in Alexandria. For information, call (320) 762-1092.

Halloween hop

A Halloween hop is set for Friday, October 29 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Alexandria Elks Lodge. There will be live music by 57 Chevy. A light meal will be served at 9:30 p.m. Come as you are or dress up. There will be a costume contest with prizes.

Tickets are $10 at the door. The event is a fundraiser for the Red Willow Arts Coalition.

ZCBJ party

A Halloween party will be held at the ZCBJ Lodge in Alexandria on Friday, October 29 at 7 p.m. There will be games, activities and potluck stew. Bring a donation for the food shelf.

Hypnotic Halloween

The Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) is holding a "hypnotic Halloween" fundraiser and costume party on Friday, October 29 at the Holiday Inn. Social hour and cash bar starts at 6:30 p.m. followed at 7 p.m. by a fashion show presented by Maurices and the fashion students from Alexandria Technical and Community College.

A show by Dream Weaver Comedy Hypnotist, Randy Buker, will begin at 8 p.m. The costume contest will be judged after the show. Johnny Rocket of the Decades DJ Service will emcee the event and provide music throughout the evening.

Tickets are $10 each and will be limited to the first 300 people. Students can receive a discounted rate if they present their student identification.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Viking Savings Bank and the LAHS in Alexandria. If tickets are still available, they will be sold at the door for $12.

Trick or treat downtown

The Downtown Merchants will be hosting trick or treating for kids in downtown Alexandria on Saturday, October 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Lucky Star

Halloween party

The Lucky Star 4-H Club is sponsoring a community Halloween party on Sunday, October 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Forada City Hall.

There will be games, a haunted maze, mini golf, balloon pop, door prizes, bike drawings and more. Admission is free.

Osakis Halloween party

The Osakis Women's Association (OWA) is throwing a Halloween party on Sunday, October 31 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Osakis Public School commons area. The party is open for children preschool through 6th grade. There will be games, treats, prizes and a light supper.

The OWA needs teenage and adult volunteers. To help, call Dar Pogose at (320) 859-2625.
