Habitat for Humanity encourages Give to the Max Day
Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County (HFHDC) is one of many nonprofit organizations throughout the state that will again ask Minnesotans to donate to their favorite causes and schools online at www.GiveMN.org during the fifth annual Give to the Max Day on Thursday, November 14.
The local affiliate is excited to be a part of this day, as it provides an opportunity for more people to learn about its mission, as well as an extra incentive to get involved.
During Give to the Max Day 2013, HFHDC will be eligible for prize grants in the form of Golden Tickets, hourly drawings to add $1,000 to a donor’s gift, randomly selected from donors who gave during each hour of the event.
One donor giving to a nonprofit and one donor giving to a school will be drawn in the evening for a super-sized golden ticket and have $10,000 added to their donations.
A challenge gift has also been offered by a local supporter. Each donation to HFHDC on Give to the Max Day will be matched dollar for dollar up to $3,500.
“We have been so blessed by the support of this community,” said Lori Anderson, HFHDC executive director. “To daily see the impact their generosity has had on the lives of families and in our community is truly something special.”
