Gymnasts third at home quad

The Alexandria gymnastics team hosted a quad on Friday night and came in third with 128.85 team points. Bemidji was first at 136.2. New London-Spicer took second with 134.1 points and Hendricks was fourth at 120.1.

Bria Schueler took seventh in the all-around to pace Alexandria, which didn’t have Hannah Wendel in the lineup. Wendel was out of town after being invited to a banquet at the University of Minnesota for her accomplishments in winning the state vault competition last season.

Schueler had an 8.65 on the vault, an 8.2 on the bars, a 7.3 on the beam and an 8 on the floor for an all-around score of 32.15. Tahlia Bowden had the Cardinals highest individual finish with a first-place finish on the bars (9.3) and a third-place performance on the beam at 8.55.
