Grover, Stark to sign books at Book World this Saturday
Alexandria writer Barb Grover will sign her new book, Alexandria, at Book World in the Viking Plaza this Saturday, July 13, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Alexandria, the newest addition to Arcadia Publishing's "Images of America" series, contains more than 200 vintage images depicting Alexandria's rich past, from its founding right up to present day.
With the assistance of the Douglas County Historical Society, the Runestone Museum and the Echo Press newspaper, Grover was able to compile a vast selection of photographs and information about Alexandria.
Arcadia Publishing is a publisher of local and regional history in the U.S. Its mission is to make history accessible and meaningful through the publication of books on the heritage of America's people and places.
Author Gene Stark will also be at Book World on Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Stark lives, writes and runs a family business in rural Glenwood.
His goal is to portray the unique culture and beauty of the Midwestern countryside.
His literacy works include the poetry of Flyover Seasons, Tracks in the Mud and his newest release, Water and Dirt.
Stark enjoys many outdoor activities, including organic gardening, skiing, fishing and hunting. He draws his inspiration from the land and people of the Heartland.
