Email

A grain dryer at the Craig Damstrom farm caught fire early Tuesday morning. The farm, located at 11544 County Road 17, is located east of Forada. According to Forada Fire Chief Bob Steidl, there were about 2,500 bushels of corn in the dryer when they received the call around 6:45 a.m. Runestone Electric Association responded to cut power to the dryer and provided firefighters a lift in a bucket truck to get to the source of the fire. Villard Fire Department also responded to the scene. (Echo Press photo by Amy Chaffins)
