Global warming theory needs public debate
To the editor:
In the past several weeks, there have been several stories that can be researched online for people that don’t fully believe the climate change argument. It can no longer be called global warming since the evidence indicates there has been no warming for 16 years. Even the IPCC accepts this.
September 18, UK Daily Mail on Sunday-had a leaked copy from the IPCC stating that scientific forecasts of imminent doom were drastically wrong. Professor Judith Curry, head of climate science at Georgia Tech, says the computer models used to predict warming were “deeply flawed.” They did not account for natural variability; important things such as sun output, ocean temps and how they affect climate. Since 1980, temps have risen .75 degrees C, and zero since 1997.
Another headline: In the past 12 months, Arctic ice has increased by 60 percent, over a million square miles. In 2007, the global warmers told us the polar ice caps would be gone by 2013. And, the Antarctic recorded its most ice ever.
If a person wants to research these and more articles and peer-reviewed research by “the deniers” (notice how if you don’t agree with the global warming people, they call you names?), do Internet searches using the names Fred Singer (PHD environmental science), Craig Idso (climatologist), Willie Soon (Earth science PHD). Their research is in areas that go against the global warmers, how solar activity influences climate, how CO2 is not the main driver of the earth’s temps. They state, and people can do their own research, that we should be more concerned about cooling, given what has been happening on the sun and with the ocean temps.
We cannot allow politically driven agendas to make us spend hundreds of billions of dollars until this is properly and openly debated. It never has been.
