The Parkers Prairie girls wrapped up their regular season with just one loss after another dominating performance in a 70-25 win over Underwood and a 59-56 win over Upsala.

The Panthers are well tested after wins over quality teams like Upsala, Osakis, Ada-Borup and others. Underwood came in as the second-place team in the Little Eight Conference, but the Panthers proved there is a big gap between those first and second spots.

The usual suspects delivered again against the Rockets as Madison Dorn and Micaela Noga each had 22 points. Ally Taylor added 10 points as the Panthers built an early lead and never looked back.

Their defense was especially stifling. Parkers Prairie held Underwood to just eight points in the first half. That led to a 35-point lead heading into the locker room. No Rockets player finished in double figures.

The Panthers took their 23-1 record into the Section 6A tournament last night, Thursday, in a match-up against eighth-seeded West Central Area. The Knights beat Ashby 47-37 for the right to play the top seed in the South.

The Panthers have been playing all season for this time of year. They are determined to make it back to a state tournament and are the clear favorites to advance out of the South bracket to play in the section finals on March 8 at Concordia-Moorhead. Ada-Borup is the top seed on the North side of the 6A bracket.
