Gilbert Sibell, 69

Gilbert John Sibell, 69, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at home in Stockton, California.

He was born January 10, 1945 in Alexandria. Gilbert was retired after 30 years from Fibreboard/Newark Sierra in Stockton, California. He and his wife lived in Guam, Japan, Germany, Italy and England and then back to Stockton.

He loved RVing with his wife and friends, just traveling anywhere. Gilbert was a golfer and loved the Minnesota Vikings Football team and NASCAR watching Tony Stewart. His favorite things were to barbecue and take care of his hummingbirds.

He had an amazing green thumb and had a patio and yard of plants and flowers. He will be deeply missed, and his memories will be cherished.

Gilbert is survived by his father, Alvin Sibell of Stockton; his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Sibell; his children, Paige, Todd, Karri and Jennifer; grandchildren, Cayla, Nathan, Miranda, Tyler, Donielle and Kelsey; siblings, Patti (John) Patrick, Bob (Corry) Sibell, Richard (Rena) Sibell, Anna Funk, Debbie (David) Trent, Jeff Sibell, Joann Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gisella "Toots" Sibell, and sister, Mary Sibell.

He was a loving and supportive dad who was always there for his kids and grandkids.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Valley Brew, 157 West Adams Street, Stockton.
