Fall is in the air - temperatures are dropping, leaves are changing and grapes need stomping.

Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria will host its annual Grape Stomp and Fall Festival next weekend, September 17 through 19.

Throughout the weekend, the event will feature live bands, artisans, comedians, magicians, food booths and more than 200 stomping teams.

The Grape Stomp and Fall Festival will run Friday, September 17 from 6 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, September 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. No discounts for minors.

A shuttle bus will be running throughout the event. The cost is $2 per person.

Schedule of events

Friday, September 17

•5 p.m. to midnight - Shuttle bus runs from Alexandria hotels and the Viking Plaza Mall.

•6 p.m. - Festival grounds are open.

•8 p.m. to midnight - Barn dance featuring the Lamont Cranston Band. Fee to get in is $10.

Saturday, September 18

•9 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Shuttle bus runs from Alexandria hotels and the Viking Plaza Mall.

•10 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Festival grounds are open.

•Noon to 6 p.m. - Wine tasting in the stables. $10 fee.

•10 a.m. to 7 p.m. - On the Marquette Stage (wine patio) will be the following entertainment: Steve Souvada at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Matt Veline at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and Dave Herzog at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

•10 a.m. to 7 p.m. - On the Valiant Stage (barn) will be the following entertainment: Skilly and Duff at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Salty Dogs at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and Jeff James at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

•10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - On the Pond Stage will be the following entertainment: Bag pipes at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.; a comedian at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and tribal belly dancing at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

•11 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Grape stomping. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be preliminary competitions. At 5 p.m. will be the grape stomp championships and best costume awards. At 6 p.m. will be the "I Love Lucy" re-enactment.

Sunday, September 19

•9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Shuttle bus runs from Alexandria hotels and the Viking Plaza Mall.

•10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Festival grounds are open.

•Noon to 3 p.m. - Wine tasting in the stables. $10 fee.

•10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - On the Marquette Stage (wine patio) will be the following entertainment: Steve Souvada at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Gregory Michael Bruce at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Dave Herzog at noon and 3 p.m.
