This annual event, which is put on by the Central Lakes Cruzers car club, offers a prime chance for owners to show off their prized possessions, and for spectators to admire their work.

Cars of all shapes and sizes start rolling through the streets of Osakis on Friday, July 9 with registration beginning at 4 p.m. at NAPA. Owners of any kind of car, old or new, are welcome to enter for a fee of $10.

On Saturday the festivities really start revving up, with ample activities for all ages. The show-n-shine event on Main Street in Osakis offers a chance to get up close to the glinting chrome, roaring engines and proud owners of the vehicles.

At 10 a.m. the annual celebrity auction will take place at the Pollard Community Center.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy the Flower Pots and Garden Stops tour, starting at Just Like Grandma's.

Get into the old-time spirit with horse-drawn trolley rides sponsored by the First National Bank of Osakis at 10 a.m. Then boogie to the music of the 1950s as it fills the air of downtown Osakis.

At 3 p.m. awards and prizes will be presented to registered car owners. More than 50 plaques will be awarded by area businesses.

When the awards are complete, all of the cars will take to the streets of Osakis, cruising from Main Street to Galeon. This parade will travel through the Community Memorial Home parking lot, for the residents' enjoyment.

To conclude the fun festivities, a polka Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

So, if you want to take a trip down memory lane and see some pristine cars of the past, visit the Roddin' Round the Lake event on July 9 and 10. You will be sure to find many classic cars and talk with many people passionate about them.
