Geography bee held at St. Mary's
Kyle Krippner (center), a 6th grader at St. Mary's School in Alexandria, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 6, and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the last round before taking a written exam. Devin Roering (left), was second at this competition and Megan Shulstad (right) was third from the field of finalists. Both are also 6th graders. Krippner will now take the written exam, where 100 of the top scores in Minnesota will be eligible to compete in the state Bee in April.
