Tim and Carolyn Aarsvold, owners of the Geneva Beach Resort on Lake Geneva in Alexandria, added two fun photo spots to their property. The boat is the perfect backdrop for anglers to show off their "catch of the day." These photo settings have encouraged the resort guests, like those pictured here, to share their photos on social media, helping spread the word of how much fun can be had in lake country! For a little extra fun this resort season, Geneva Beach Resort in Alexandria installed two fun-photo locations for guests to enjoy.

A large wooden chair was placed roadside of the resort and an old wooden boat was set up lakeside for guests to snap pictures of their fishing trophies.

The “Catch of the Day” boat was an old Lady of the Lakes boat that was made in Alexandria. Now unusable, the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum donated the boat to Geneva Beach Resort, where neighbor Russ Oorlog sanded and painted it.

Carolyn Aarsvold, one of the resort owners, said that people from all over the county stay at the resort every week and have loved the new photo spots, uploading the snapshots on Facebook and Instagram.
