Garfield Day 2013 set for August 10
The city of Garfield will celebrate the summer season with Garfield Day 2013 on Saturday, August 10. An all-day family event, Garfield Day will feature a parade, car show and bean bag tournament, as well as a handful of new activities.

Following is a schedule of events:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 10
City Wide Garage Sales.
Pancake feed at St. John's Church.
7 to 11 a.m. Car show at the park.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop with vendors at City Park.
11 a.m. Parade; $50 cash prize for the best float.
Noon. Water ball wars; kids water ball wars following the fire department.
Noon. Concessions at City Park.
Noon to 3 p.m. Pork chop feed and beer garden at City Park.
Noon to 3 p.m. Kiddie carnival at City Park; $3 for all-day pass; includes bouncy house and games; 12:30 p.m. Kids' coin find (toddler to 12 years); 12 to 2 p.m. Hemker petting zoo; 1 to 3 p.m. Face painting.
Noon to 4 p.m. Pie and ice cream social at St. Luke's Church.
1 to 3 p.m. Kids' tractor pedal pull.
1 to 4 p.m. Lions bingo.
3 p.m. Raffle drawing by Garfield Fire Department; tickets available at the park.
Horse drawn trailer rides, mini horse and cart rides.
Bean bag toss tournaments.
