Fundraising gap between Peterson, Westrom narrows

WASHINGTON – The fundraising race in Minnesota for the 7th District seat in the U.S. House was closer this quarter than last.
Longtime incumbent Rep. Collin Peterson, a Democrat, raised nearly $268,000 from April to June, and he ended the month with about $717,000 total cash on hand. Peterson spent about $70,000 in the three-month period.
Republican challenger Torrey Westrom, a state senator, raised about $232,000 in the three-month period and ended the month of June with $328,000 total cash on hand. He spent about $73,000 from April to June.
Peterson raised about $218,000 the first three months of the year, while Westrom raised about $137,000.
