Free webinar examines mental health assessments
A webinar to share the results of a Region IV mental and behavioral health needs assessment will take place Thursday, May 22 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The webinar is free, but registration is required.
Two mental health initiatives worked collaboratively to assess their mental health services for children and adults.
The initiatives were BCOW Adult Mental Health Initiative (Becker, Clay, Otter Tail and Wilkin counties) and the Region 4 South Adult Mental Health Initiative (Douglas, Pope, Traverse, Stevens and Grant counties).
They wanted to learn about the perceived strengths of the current mental health system in the region, the challenges and limitations and the barriers to accessing services and supports.
The study also examined the level of integration between these services and looked to the future for mental health trends and projections.
Lakeland Mental Health Center, PrimeWest Health and West Central Initiative helped fund the study, which was prepared by The Improve Group.
Nearly 400 participants provided feedback for the study through in-person focus groups, interviews and online focus groups and surveys.
