Free membership offered for Alexienne Chorus

The Alexienne Chorus of Alexandria is offering a free performance opportunity that will result in the opportunity to perform with the chorus in August.

The chorus is a member of the Sweet Adelines International Organization.

Beginning Tuesday, July 8, women who like to sing are invited to six Tuesday rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. in the Bethany Community Chapel, 10th and Lark Street, Alexandria.

The rehearsals include learning three songs, vocal production and social time.

The performance date is Sunday, August 17 at several area churches for morning services.

This opportunity does not obligate participants to any further commitment in the chorus.

Sweet Adelines International Choruses feature women’s barbershop-style music in four-part harmony: bass, baritone, lead and tenor.

Current members of the Alexienne Chorus are from Alexandria, Barrett, Brandon, Carlos, Evansville, Herman, Hoffman, Starbuck, Parkers Prairie and Wadena. The chorus is directed by Sharon Kempf of Wadena.
