Free food program workshop planned for child care providers and parents
The cost of food has risen sharply in the past year, putting a pinch in many budgets.
Stacey Wixo, area coordinator for Providers Choice, will present a workshop called Cent$ible Meals, which will share tips and meal ideas that can help participants get more "bang for their buck" while providing healthful, satisfying meals.
The workshop is free and open to the public, however seating is limited so pre-registration is required. Food program participants will meet CACFP annual training requirements by attending this session. To register, contact Wixo at (218) 233-5210.
The workshop Cent$ible Meals will take place Thursday, March 12; Monday, March 30; and Tuesday, April 14 at Discovery Middle School in Alexandria from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Providers Choice, Inc. is a sponsor of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program that provides nutrition education as well as reimbursement for meals fed to children in licensed day care homes.
