Free dyslexia presentation offered
Greenleaf Learning Studio is sponsoring a free presentation by Reading Resources, LLC, on Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at 213 6th Avenue East, Alexandria.
The presentation, by Lori Langerud and Kelly Haws, will focus on the following:
--Providing a better understanding of the signs of dyslexia.
--The genetic link.
--The latest brain research.
--Effective and scientifically proven ways to teach reading and spelling.
--Methods that do not help.
--Strategies to help people with dyslexia at home and school.
The presenters will share other resources available to help educators and parents teach those with dyslexia. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
The presentation is open to parents, educators, resource specialists, principals, school psychologists, speech language professionals, pediatricians and others interested in learning more about struggling readers and those with dyslexia.
