Former Miltona resident writes book on world travel experiences
Dr. Clifford Becker, former resident of the Miltona area, recently published a book titled Conversations with a World Traveler in which he recalls 30 years of living and working abroad as a direct-hire university professor.
The book tells of Becker's experiences in Tehran throughout the Iranian revolution, Beirut in turbulent years 1978-81 and Bahrain during the first Gulf War. Other adventures told include Denmark, Greece and Botswana, from castles and cathedrals in Europe to wild animal safaris in Africa.
Topics are covered in the form of conversations, which allows related historical facts and human interest anecdotes to be shared.
Becker grew up near Miltona and graduated co-valedictorian from Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1959. He received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul in 1963 and received a Master of Science and Ph.D. in chemistry at Ohio State University.
Becker is now retired and living in Eden Prairie.
