Fond memories served up at Jefferson High School

To celebrate Jefferson High School's retirement at the end of this school year, Alexandria School District 206 hoted an old-fashioned ice cream social and open house this afternoon, Sunday.

The event honored the school's history of serving more than five decades of students and families.

Alumni from all eras gathered in the cafeteria, swapping memories of their high school days, some traveling from as far away as California to attend the event. Many of them stuck around to have a group photo taken in the school gym.

See Wednesday's Echo Press for more details and photos.
