Florance Roush, 83
Florance Mae Roush, 83, Sauk Centre, former longtime resident of Villard, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at CentraCare Hospital in Sauk Centre.
Florance was born near De Graff on September 16, 1930 to Herman and Gladys (Cramlet) Schwendemann.
On March 12, 1947, Florance married Owen Roush Jr. at the Rolling Forks Lutheran Church. They made their home in rural Villard and were blessed with 58 years of marriage before Owen passed away in 2005.
Florance enjoyed camping and fishing and traveling. She called her flower gardens her "soul food" and she collected rose plates. Music always spoke to Florance and Junior. They square danced for over 30 years.
In March of 2012, Florance was diagnosed with colon/rectal cancer. That September she moved to Riverview Manor in Sauk Centre. After living on the farm for 60 years, the move was very difficult, but she made many new friends and eventually sold the farm on August 14, 2013.
There was nothing more important to Florance than God, family and friends. God bless the memory of Florance Roush.
Florance is survived by her children, Kenneth (Gail) Roush, Anoka, Edna (Ron) Goracke, Alexandria, Carol (Craig) Nordmeyer, Sparks, NV, Brenda (Mike) Eltgroth, Sauk Centre, JoAnn (Ted) Schluter Lee, Murphy, NC; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
