Five suspects were arrested last week for allegedly selling methamphetamine in Douglas and Pope counties.

On December 9, agents arrested Kyle Hildebrand, 29, of South Haven and Jami Ann Johnson, 23, of Sauk Rapids, for first degree substance sales crimes.

During the investigation, agents said they purchased 106 grams of methamphetamine from Hildebrand and Johnson for $6,000. Both were arrested without incident and transported to the Douglas County Jail.

The meth has a street value of more than $21,000. Both remain in custody at the Douglas County Jail.

Also that day, agents arrested Andrew Denny, 25, of Villard, and Michael Larson, 41, of Starbuck, for first degree controlled substance crimes.

During this investigation, agents said they purchased 34.7 grams of methamphetamine for $2,100 at Denny’s residence in Villard.

Agents then followed Denny and Larson to the Clearwater area where they allegedly purchased more meth.

Authorities followed Denny and Larson back to Douglas County and a traffic stop was conducted. Denny and Larson were found in possession of 62 grams of meth, according to the task force.

The meth had a street value of more than $19,000. Denny and Larson remain in custody at the Douglas County Jail.

On December 12, authorities executed a search warrant at 5200 Sunset Strip NW, Alexandria, and Michael Burkey, 66, of Alexandria was arrested at the scene and charged with first degree controlled substance crimes. Meth was also recovered there, according to the task force.

First degree controlled substance crimes carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
