FIRST Robotics team competes at state
FRC Team 3313 Mechatronics from Alexandria recently earned fourth place at the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Robotics Tournament at Williams Arena.
For a typical FIRST Robotics tournament, there are three days of competition and 10 matches.
For the Minnesota state tournament, there are nine qualifying matches in six hours.
The team finished qualifying with a 5-4 record and in 12th place.
Heading into Alliance Selection, in which teams pair with other teams, 4009 from Duluth picked Team 3313. It also partnered up with 2512 from Duluth.
The most memorable match for the team was when it was partnered with teams 2512 and 2175. Together, they scored 256 points.
Seniors on the Alexandria team include Bryce Klang, Lacey Werman, Kacy McCormick, Molly Schouweiler, Karl Santelman, Thomas Pederson, Heidi Larson and Jade Blaydes.
The next FIRST Robotics tournament will be the Alexandria Robotics Tournament on Saturday, November 1 at Alexandria Area High School.
