First half leads Browerville over WCA

The West Central Area boys’ basketball team was unable to overcome a good Browerville team on Tuesday in a 78-65 loss on the road.

The Tigers went on a run in the middle of the first half to take a 25-15 lead over the Knights. WCA trailed by 12 points at halftime, and this deficit proved to be too much for them to overcome.

0 Talk about it

The cold weather has limited the Knights’ practice time in the last week, something head coach Kraig Hunter felt did not help the team.

“We have only practiced for one hour in the past week due to weather, and it really showed,” Hunter said. “We really struggled from the field on anything outside the paint.”

Dakotah Kashmark led the Knights with 20 points and Jay Zimmerman also scored 15. The Tigers’ scoring was led by Cody Hansmeyer with 22 points.

The win improved Browerville to 5-2 against Prairie Conference opponents while dropping WCA to 6-3.
