Fire early Tuesday morning damages Alexandria home
Alexandria firefighters battled a house fire at 409 Elm Street early Tuesday morning.
A neighbor called 911 at about 5 a.m. When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the house and had already caused extensive damage.
The two-story house is located across the street from Knute Nelson Field.
No one was home at the time of the blaze. The owners of the home were contacted later.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
Alexandria Police Department, North Ambulance and Osakis Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
