Find a new workout through Community Education
Looking for a new workout? Community Education has a few to offer: Pilates and zumba.
Learn natural movements of the body using slow and controlled movements in Introduction to Pilates. This class will focus on core strength to strengthen the back, as well as flexibility, posture and balance. Bring a towel and a mat if you have one.
Instructor Britta Duffy-Buckner is a wellness instructor and trainer.
Class is at the Discovery Middle School wrestling room in Alexandria on Mondays, September 16-October 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is no class October 14. The cost is $29.
Zumba combines dance and fitness by fusing Latin rhythms with cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, flamenco and hip hop styles. The one-hour class offers high energy dance and long-term benefits.
Instructor Stephanie Muehlenhardt is a certified Zumba instructor.
Zumba is offered at the Discovery Middle School cafeteria on Tuesdays, September 17-October 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. The cost is $29.
