FFA makes impact at Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota FFA is busy at this year's Minnesota State Fair.

Here are some highlights of the FFA members' activity:

FFA Chapter House and Leadership Center

Kids, come inside the FFA Chapter House and Leadership Center to earn your Agriculture Explorer badge by learning more about today's agriculture. Displays include making healthy food choices, Minnesota food products and agricultural fun facts. Partnering with farmersfeedus.org, Minnesota FFA and the Minnesota FFA Foundation are pleased to help share the story of Minnesota farmers, many who were members of the FFA. Fair attendees are encouraged to register for free groceries in the FFA Chapter House and Leadership Center.

Newborn animals from the CHS Miracle of Birth Center are also brought into the FFA Chapter House & Leadership Center at 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. every day of the fair. Fairgoers can answer trivia questions and visit with young leaders in the FFA.

CHS Miracle of Birth Center

FFA members are busy caring for the animals and answering questions from fairgoers in the most visited free attraction at the State Fair, the CHS Miracle of Birth Center. Follow the Minnesota FFA Association on Facebook to learn how many newborn animals have been born thus far at the state fair.

FFA exhibits

Non-livestock exhibits from FFA members across the state are on display throughout the fair in the Education and Horticulture Buildings. FFA livestock shows, the largest stand-alone FFA show in the country, will be held August 31- September 3.

FFA awards programs

The Minnesota FFA Alumni Association will recognize recent Hall of Fame inductees and others on the Christensen Farms Stage on Saturday, September 1. These individuals will also be part of the State Fair Parade throughout the grounds at 2 p.m.

FFA Supreme Champion and awards program

FFA Supreme Champions will be named for the beef, dairy, swine and sheep species in the Judging Arena on Monday, September 3.
