Fargo police arrest two in alleged robbery
FARGO -- Fargo police officers chased down two men on foot and arrested them in connection with an alleged robbery early Monday in south Fargo.
Sgt. Ross Renner said police are investigating whether the incident may be related to three reported muggings during the last week of December in an area south of Interstate 94 between University Drive and 25th Street South.
"At this point, it doesn't appear they are (related)," he said.
The alleged victim in Monday's incident, reported at 2:31 a.m., was leaving Big D's Bar & Grill when he was approached by two men who invited him to a residence to drink afterward, Renner said.
When the victim arrived at the address in the 4300 block of 15th Avenue South, the suspects asked him to come out to the garage, where they allegedly assaulted him and took his money, Renner said. No weapons were used, he said.
Officers in the area found two people running from the scene and chased them down on foot, Renner said.
Henry Mitchell, 40, and Jacob Mau, 23, both of Fargo, were arrested on suspicion of resisting a police officer and robbery. Mitchell also was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell was one of two promoters involved in booking an October 2003 concert by rapper Missy Elliott at the Fargodome, which was canceled because of poor ticket sales.
