Expect sirens and smoke at airport

Email News Alerts

All heck is going to break loose at the Alexandria Airport this Sunday and Monday when a plane will "crash" and burn.

But it's all being staged to hone the skills of those who would leap into action if such a tragedy ever takes place.

On Sunday afternoon, fire departments throughout Douglas County, along with law enforcement officers, will train at the airport, using a "jet simulator" that will produce smoke and fire in a simulated fuselage.
