Exhibitors sought for 9th annual Quilts Along the Trail show
On Saturday, September 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Osakis will host the 9th annual Quilts Along the Trail show. It will take place along the Central Lakes Trail in downtown Osakis.
The event showcases the talent and skills of central Minnesota quilters. It is free and open to the public. Activities include live entertainment and food booths plus "make and take" workshops throughout the day.
There are also consignment sales and craft and quilter vendors, plus a handmade quilt giveaway sponsored by the planning committee. A special showcase will focus on nine-patch quilts.
Exhibitors are welcome to exhibit new work or existing and vintage pieces. Items shown do not have to be made by the exhibitor to be eligible for display.
There is no entry fee and no judging to be an exhibitor in the show.
The "Bed Turning" features a presentation with quilts displayed on a bed. Qualified speakers give each quilt's history and stylistic information.
The "Challenge Quilt Show" features items done by local and regional quilters using the same pattern of fabric in a package of fat quarters. This year's fat quarters are $5 and feature a variety of seasonal colors and prints. Some of the challenge quilt items will be for sale.
The "Quilter's Flea Market" is back this year. It includes pre-cut quarters, packaged quilt blocks, bags of scrap material and remnants, finished quilts and other quilted pieces.
Exhibitors are encouraged to register early. For more information, call (320) 352-1843.
