Evansville Calvary Covenant Church celebrates 125 years this Sunday

2012 marks the 125th anniversary of Calvary Covenant Church in Evansville.

The Congregation will celebrate the anniversary on Sunday, June 10 with a worship service at 10 a.m. followed by a dinner and fellowship.

There will be opportunities for group pictures and a historical booklet with pictures of members available for purchase.

The celebration will culminate with a 2 p.m. informal service followed by coffee and Scandinavian treats.

Calvary Covenant was established by a few dedicated Christian families who came to America from Sweden and Norway in the 1800s.

The original church was built a few miles from town at Oak Hill and was dismantled and reconstructed in 1902 at its current location of 404 Meeker Street in Evansville.
