Entzi secures state bid in 500

Seventh grader Lacey Entzi is already turning heads as a swimmer for the Minnewaska-Morris swim team after setting a school record and earning a trip to the state meet this past weekend.

Entzi led her team to a 10th-place finish at the Section 6A meet in Alexandria by taking second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:25.43, behind only Kendra Raths of Sartell, who finished in 5:23.95. Entzi also had a school record time in the 200 freestyle as she took ninth in 2:02.59, shaving five seconds off her time in the prelims.

Kate Folkman, Meghan Thoen, Bridgitte Weaver and Entzi also took seventh in the 400 freestyle in 4:00.06 to round out the Minnewaska-Morris swimmers who finished on the podium with top-eight finishes.
