Emergency drill to take place tonight
Ambulances, law enforcement personnel, firefighters and first responder groups will all converge at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, tonight, Monday.
But the public can relax; it's all a drill.
From 5 to 7 p.m., Douglas County Emergency Management is going to be simulating a disaster.
The training exercise will take place at the fairgrounds and the Community Behavioral Health Hospital on 8th Avenue East.
The drill will involve numerous emergency response personnel from area fire departments, first responder groups, law enforcement and ambulance services, just to name a few.
Because of the traffic volume in these areas involving emergency vehicles, the public is asked to try to avoid these areas during tonight's drill, if possible.
