Elliot and Dennis Christensen of Elden's Fresh Foods in Alexandria were honored with an award in Omaha, Nebraska at the CenturyLink Center in conjunction with the 81st annual Affiliated Foods Midwest (AFM) Fall Food Show.

The store was recognized with a Visionary Award among a crowd of fellow retailers, vendors and AFM management and staff. The awards are handed out to a number of selected retailers who have demonstrated the vision and commitment to re-invest in their business and obtained the foresight to position themselves and their business well for the future.

Martin Arter, AFM president/CEO said, "These retailers have reached new heights by developing and enhancing their services, store or performance, and we were very excited to honor them this year."

AFM is a member-owned cooperative providing independent grocers with a full range of foods, supermarket supplies and services throughout several states in the Midwest. AFM is a member of the Topco Cooperative, the second largest procurer of grocery goods in the U.S.
