The Brandon Miss Tootsie Pageant is back by popular demand for its third run.

The pageant, which is held every three years, is scheduled for Friday, July 6 at 7 p.m in the Brandon High School gym.

Eight gals (actually guys dressed up as gals) will vie for the title of Brandon's 2012 Miss Tootsie. All eight have ties to the Brandon, Evansville and Millerville area.

These eight beauties have already gone through a photo shoot and are currently rehearsing their individual talents and group dance routine to a Lady Gaga number, which they will perform at the pageant.

Their talents include impersonations of some music greats such as Gretchen Wilson, Sade, Patsy Cline, Bombshell, Rihanna, TLC and The Blues Brothers.

They will be judged and will receive awards for most photogenic, Miss Congeniality, best gown, best talent, best in group dance routine, and others.

The 2009 royalty will return to crown the new winners. They include: Queen - Holly Wood (Trent Hintermeister); 1st runner up - Daisy Daniels (Dan Byrne); and 3rd Runner Up - Josh Pikkaraine. Second runner up Kyle Walter was unable to attend.

The 2009 royalty will also be performing a group number at the pageant.

Cookies and juice will be served at intermission by members of the Brandon Community Club, the event sponsor.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students going into K-12, and free for preschoolers.

Proceeds go to offset expenses associated with the Brandon Summerfest, which is held the first week of August, and holiday community parties for children.
