The Minnesota History Center announced this week that it will display an early published version of the Constitution along with a rare draft of the U.S. Bill of Rights and originals of the two Minnesota state constitutions, April 3 - July 4, 2012. In response, Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie released the following statement.

"As a member of the Minnesota Historical Society's Executive Council, I want to congratulate the Minnesota History Center for their dedicated work to exhibit our nation's most sacred documents. This historical collection will provide schools and other groups with a unique opportunity to learn about our Constitution, our rights, and our freedoms. I encourage all Minnesotans to plan a visit to the Minnesota History Center and urge organizations across the state to plan other events to celebrate our Constitution. "

"Minnesotans who visit this rare exhibit will find a compelling story about our history and heritage that emphasizes the continuing importance of the Constitution in our lives."
