Drive with caution during bicycling fundraiser
Motorists traveling on area roads are asked to slow down and watch for bicyclists participating in a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser for families in Manitoba, Canada.
Cycle of Hope volunteers left Louisville, Kentucky, on June 28 for a two-week journey to celebrate the 20th annual Cycle of Hope's 1,000 Miles Home Challenge.
Bicyclists traveled into west central Minnesota on July 11, from Willmar to Garfield on local city streets, as well as county and state highways. On Friday, July 12 they left Garfield and biked to Detroit Lakes.
Since 1993, the Cycle of Hope riders journey 1,000 miles and raise enough money to enable Habitat for Humanity Manitoba to build a new affordable home for a family in need. The Cycle of Hope has raised more than $2.5 million for Habitat for Humanity Manitoba since its inception and looks forward to the annual challenge each year with new and returning cyclists.
