Downtown Floral moves into Elden's
Downtown Floral has a new home inside Elden's at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Nokomis Street in Alexandria.
Elliot and Dennis Christensen of Elden's purchased Downtown Floral from Terry and Lach Glennie.
There'll be no change in management or staff and Downtown Floral will provide the same products and services on which it built its reputation over the last 17 years, according to Terry Glennie.
"It is a wonderful opportunity for us to have expanded and offer our customers even more options and value," said Glennie, a certified expert designer.
The florist shop's phone number and web address remain the same - (320) 762-7292 and www.downtownfloral.com. Its hours are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Laura Davis-Kremer is Glennie's assistant.
Downtown Floral offers a full range of floral products for any event - weddings, birthdays, special occasions, anniversaries, funerals and proms. It's also a member of the FTD and Teleflora.network.
The shop occupies 3,000 square feet on the east side of Elden's new addition.
The grocery store is in the final stages of a huge remodeling project that's expected to wrap up by May 13. The addition of Downtown Floral fits in with Elden's plans.
"The goal is to have a one-stop shop so customers can get everything done in one trip," Elliot Christensen said.
Elden's is also excited about its new natural organic foods department, which Christensen said will be the largest in the area.
