Douglas Wood and WildSpirit to perform free concert Thursday
Douglas Wood and WildSpirit will perform at the Red Willow Arts Coalition free concert on Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. on the lawn at the Douglas County Courthouse in Alexandria.
Author, illustrator, musician, composer, naturalist, wilderness guide, Douglas Wood has a passion for communicating in words and music the inspiration to be found in nature. Through books, CDs, concerts and keynotes, he seeks to convey the wonder of the natural world and its relevance to the human spirit.
Wood began as a musician and plays the banjo, mandolin and 12- and 6-string guitar. He often performs with his musical "family," the WildSpirit Band.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In the event of inclement weather, listen to KXRA 1490 AM for cancellation information.
The Red Willow Arts Coalition is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide the community with access to more musical experiences.
