Douglas Machine's Andrew Freyholtz is awarded Employee Owner of the Year

Douglas Machine Inc., a global leader in automated secondary packaging solutions, has announced that Andrew Freyholtz has been recognized as the "Employee Owner of the Year" by the MN/Dak Chapter of the ESOP Association. Douglas Machine has been an employee owned (ESOP) company since 2000.

The special honor is annually provided to one employee owner from the three state areas of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Freyholtz's nomination will be forwarded to the national ESOP Association review team that will soon select the national employee owner of the year. In May, Freyholtz along with other regional ESOP champions will be recognized in Washington, D.C. at the national ESOP conference.

"We are proud of Andrew for this accomplishment." said Vern Anderson, CEO and chairman.

The selection criterion for this honor includes an employee's involvement in developing and promoting an ESOP culture within their organization and their involvement with the ESOP Association.

A member of the company's Employee Ownership Council (EOC) since it was formed in 2006, Freyholtz is currently the EOC president. He has been active in the ESOP Association as a member of the Government Relations Committee.

Through Freyholtz's efforts, over the past two years Douglas has been privileged to have been visited by two national legislators, Representative Collin Peterson and Senator Al Franken. He has also helped coordinate legislative visits in Washington, D.C. during the annual ESOP Association convention.

This is the fourth year in a row that Douglas has been recognized at a national level for employee ownership awards:

2009: AACE Award for Total Communication

2010: AACE Award for External Advertising

2011: MN/Dak ESOP Assn Company of the Year
