Douglas County Library kicks off summer season

The Douglas County Library's summer reading program is under way, offering a variety of free programs geared for all ages.

Families are encouraged to come see Professor Marvel's Amazing Archeological Adventure, the Grammy-winning Okee Dokee Brothers, the Minnesota Zoomobile and Magician Star Michaelina.

Other programs will also be available to teens in grades 6-12.

Tom-E-Lee of the Misfits of Magic will offer a magic workshop. A craft day will offer experimentation with marble magnets, giant Scrabble and henna tattoos. At the end of July, teens can experiment with bleach tie-dye T-shirts.

The library will also offer the lunch brunch program from noon to 1 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday. In partnership with a number of local community members, it will talk about a variety of topics from farming to the outdoors at Lake Carlos State Park.
