Douglas County honored
Recognizing people who have given of their time and talents to agriculture was the focus of the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation awards banquet held Friday, November 30 during the 94th annual conference at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington. The awards banquet included both individual and county honors in a variety of categories.
In the group of 121-200 voting members, the most prestigious county Farm Bureau award, the President's Award for Exemplary Achievement, was awarded to Douglas County.
Other counties presented with this award include Beltrami, Cass, Crow Wing, Sibley, Steele, Winona, Martin, Rice, Washington-Ramsey, Wright and Headwaters Regional.
County selection is based on achievement in five key categories: leadership, development, member benefits, promotion and education, public policy and public relations.
Other awards presented were the Distinguished Service to Agriculture, Honorary Life awards, Ag Communicator of the Year, Extension Educator of the Year, FFA Advisor of the Year, Post-Secondary Agriculture Educator of the Year and four $500 Al Christopherson Scholarships.
