Douglas County changes septic regulations

A new septic ordinance will be instituted in Douglas County as of August 1. The ordinance includes additional permit requirements and adjustments in fees charged by the county for septic services.

Standard systems, holding tanks and privies, alternative systems and restaurant/bar/hotel systems will be affected by the change in fees.

After August 1, all new systems will require soil verification, that cost has been added to the permit fee.
