Donna Jean Frank, 67, Ashby, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Donna Jean was born April 19, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Archie Verl and Irma Irene (Miller) Cape. She grew up in Washington, Illinois, where she attended high school. She married Charles Edward Frank on April 4, 1964 in Washington, Illinois, and they were blessed with two sons, David Ryan and Joseph Edward. Donna Jean and Charles lived in Bellevue, Illinois from 1971-1992.
After raising her children, Donna Jean worked as a legal secretary in Peoria, Illinois for 12 years. In 1993, Donna Jean and Charles moved to Ashby, where they purchased the Ashby Resort and Campground. They operated the resort until 1999, at which time Donna Jean went to work for Tastefully Simple in Alexandria, where she continued to work.
Donna Jean enjoyed trips to the casino, and time spent on Pelican Lake. Most important was time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, Briana Renae.
Donna Jean was a member of Destiny Church in Ashby.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of Ashby; son, David Frank of Peoria, IL; granddaughter, Briana Frank of Manteno, IL; and a brother, Archie (Etta Mae) Cape Jr. of Washington, IL.
In addition to her parents, Donna Jean was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Edward Frank; and one sister, Sharon Cape.
Funeral services were held February 18 at Destiny Church in Ashby with Pastor Steven Quernemoen officiating.
Interment was at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, Illinois.
