Donald Steenhoven, 77
Donald Charles Steenhoven, 77, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Avon Park, Florida.
He was born in Sibley, Iowa to Charles and Mildred (Brunk) Steenhoven. He was a business owner, served in the United States Army, and was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, war airplanes and attending air shows and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Lutheran faith, and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1976, coming from Alexandria, Minnesota.
He is survived by his loving companion, Donna Myers of Avon Park, Florida; son, Michael D. Steenhoven (Rose) of Topeka, Kansas; daughters, Linda Froemming of Leaf Valley and the late Jeff Froemming, and Becky Jordan (Robert) of Avon Park, Florida; brother, Marvin Steenhoven (Mary) of Adrian; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Ricky Wade Steenhoven.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 13 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Grodzinski officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW of Avon Park, Florida.
Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park was in charge of arrangements.
