District 206 names new community education director
The School District 206 Board of Education has approved the selection of Lynn Jenc as the district’s community education director. Jenc currently serves as community education director for Albany Area Schools, a position she has held since 2003.
Jenc will be responsible for directing, managing and providing leadership in the development and implementation of the school district’s community services, community relations and community educational programs.
“I am very pleased to welcome Lynn to District 206,” said superintendent Rick Lahn. “Her education, experiences and knowledge in aspects and areas of community education and preK-12 education, will make her a valuable asset to our team.”
Jenc will begin on Tuesday, July 1, replacing current community education director Susan Scarborough, who had previously requested an unpaid extended leave of absence from the school board, which was approved until June 30, 2017.
Scarborough has served as community education director for 28 years. During her tenure, District 206 community education programming has continued to evolve in response to changing community needs and interests.
