District 206 and Zion schools offer free summer meals

Alexandria Public Schools and Zion Lutheran School in Alexandria are participating in the federal Summer Food Service Program, which provides free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger.

The Summer Free Meals Program is designed to fill the gap in nutrition that may occur during the summer months.

All children, regardless of income, who live or visit the community, are welcome to participate in free breakfast and free lunch at the Woodland Elementary School, Miltona Elementary School and Zion School cafeterias.

Kids eat free for all meals. Adults are $3.50.

Participants are asked to bring exact payment or purchase punch tickets in advance.

Following is the schedule:

Woodland School, 1410 South McKay Avenue, Alexandria, Monday through Friday June 11 through August 24 (closed July 4). Breakfast will be served between 8 and 9 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Menus will be posted online at www.alexandria.k12.mn.us. For information, call (320) 762-3315.

Miltona School, 271 Dale Street, Miltona, June 18-20 and 27-29, July 10-12 and August 7-9. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Menus will be posted online at www.alexandria.k12.mn.us. For information, call (320) 762-3315.

Zion School, 300 Lake Street, Alexandria, Monday through Friday, June 6 to August 24 (closed July 4). Breakfast is served from 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monthly menus are available at the school or on the website at www.zionalex.org.
