Police looking for robbery suspect

Diekman, Vangsness in MGA Amateur

Alexandria's Gordy Diekman (Atikwa Golf Club) and Casey Vangsness (Alexandria Golf Club) took to the tee box Monday for the opening round of the 107th Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) Amateur Championship at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton.

Diekman had an 8 a.m. round one time, and was playing with Myles Pfingsten of the Interlaken Golf Club and Andrew Oakes of the Lester Park Golf Club, while Vangsness opened at 12:40 p.m. and was playing with Steve Hjortness of the Eastwood Golf Club and Trent Waterman of the Chaska Town Course.

Former Cardinal Jack Dressen (Geneva Golf Club), now of Edina, teed off at 1:40 p.m., along with Tommy Koehler of the Bent Creek Golf Club and Shawn Gudahl of the Minn-Iowa Golf Club.

MGA Amateur play began Monday and continues through today, Wednesday.
