Developmental Achievement Center honors employers, employees

The Douglas County Developmental Achievement Center (DAC) recently celebrated several awards.

The DAC honored Wendy’s as an Employer of the Quarter. Wendy’s has employed Ray Pipo of the DAC for almost 15 years. Pipo is proud to work at Wendy’s and to present their award.

Covenant Church was also named a DAC Employer of the Quarter. It has also employed individuals from the DAC for approximately 15 years.

During the awards ceremony, Pastor Trinity Opp and Pastor John LeVahn thanked DAC’s consumers for being a part of the Covenant team.

Dean Johnsen and Elton Fritz were recognized as DAC Employees of the Quarter.

Johnsen comes to work every day with a smile and tries to greet every person coming in and out of his work area. Johnsen is willing to try new things and exhibits a positive attitude.

Fritz has been working at the DAC for 25 years, both in-house and in the community. He enjoys coming to work every day and rarely misses a day. He enjoys helping others, both staff and consumers.

Lastly, the DAC celebrated the retirement of Pat Abbott. She worked at the DAC for 28 years. During that time, she saw many changes and has always tried to put the DAC and the consumers first.

Abbott will continue to work at the DAC on a substitute basis.
