Two Alexandria Destination Imagination teams, Fantastic 4 and Xtreme Team, will advance to the state competition at Jackson Middle School in Champlin on Saturday, April 12.

Both teams took first place in their division at the regional Destination Imagination competition in March. Both are 5th grade teams from Lincoln Elementary School in Alexandria.

The Fantastic 4 team competed in the technical problem, which involved locating and moving hidden objects without touching the objects with their hands.

Its team manager is Susan Anderson, and team members are Nathan Halstead, Aaron Jost, Georgia Reemts and Cameron Hochsprung.

The Xtreme Team chose the scientific challenge. In this challenge, team members had to create a skit that blended research and scientific information with creativity and theater arts. Jen Jabas is the team manager. Team members include Carson Schreck, Zach Kent, Tyler Jabas and Elijah Holthaus.

Destination Imagination is an international competition for students in grades 3-12 that encourages creativity, problem solving and teamwork.
